March 7

To The Women in the Restaurant Industry This International Women’s Day

Here’s a shout-out to all our women co-workers who make the restaurant industry a better place every day — Happy International Women’s Day.

Tomorrow – Friday March 8th – is International Women’s Day and we want to give a shout-out to all the amazing women working daily to make the world of food, drink and service an amazing place to be.  I’ve had many influential women in my life and I know that there are countless women who should be recognized way more than they are.

Like everyone else in the world, we all have a life outside of work and other things we could be doing (although, money is necessary). But, this is our shout-out to all the women who show up to work on time — every day — ready to kick ass. They go above and beyond because they’re knowledgeable, passionate and excited about the service they provide. These women are bartenders, barbacks, dishwashers, hosts, servers, line cooks, chefs, managers and owners –  but most importantly, these women are inspirational. This shout-out is to the women in the restaurant industry who encourage us to learn and grow every day through their example and if you reflect today, i’m sure you can think of a few co-workers who make work a better place.

Showing gratitude can be as simple as saying you recognize what they bring to the team, or what they’ve taught you

So if there is a woman you work with who has had influence on your career, tomorrow is a great day to show them you appreciate them. It might be that one person who never has to ask if you need help before jumping in because they’re attentive and a team player. Or that one person who listens to your ideas, motivates you to take action and always has your back. Or the person who’s always willing to show up early or stay late because they understand the bigger picture of providing amazing service. Or maybe you just appreciate them for being a friend. Showing gratitude can be as simple as saying you recognize what they bring to the team, or what they’ve taught you. Giving a little recognition can be enough to make someone feel valued.

To all the women working in the restaurant industry and especially to the women working tomorrow, we appreciate what you do each day to make this world fun, bright, exciting, challenging, interesting and so much more. Happy International Women’s Day.
