You May be Stuck at Home, But You Can Still Make a Difference

ONETrack International has opened a fundraising volunteer opportunity for out-of-work restaurant employees to raise money for orphans – and themselves. Here’s how to get involved!

As states nationwide issue Stay at Home orders to flatten the curve of COVID-19, millions of restaurant workers find themselves out of work. ONETrack International —  an organization that promotes sustainable orphan care solutions worldwide — wants to help. They’ve created a fundraising campaign specifically so out-of-work hospitality employees can earn income while raising funds for orphaned children.

If you’re seeking a way to make some cash while making a difference in our global community — this opportunity is for you. Here is everything you need to know to get started.

About ONETrack International
ONETrack International is a Boston based organization that advocates and raises funds to promote proper orphan care solutions around the world. Through a “Transition to Home” approach, they’re able to support the successful rehoming of orphaned children with biological relatives while continuing to fund the child’s education, healthcare and development.

“At ONETrack International, our vision is a world in which the Global Orphan Crisis is better managed, and all orphaned children have the opportunity to grow as a member of a family, receive proper education and healthcare,” Advancement Director Anna Cavolowsky explains. “We work in 7 different countries: Cambodia, Cameroon, Greece, Honduras, Liberia, The Gambia, and Zimbabwe.”

ONETrack International’s approach to orphan care helps sustain communities through nourishing cultural traditions and bonds between the citizens and their heritage. Here is a video to learn more about how ONETrack International’s Transition to Home approach works to benefit orphans around the globe and the communities they live in.

How you can get involved
The Restaurant Staff for Orphans campaign allows out-of-work hospitality employees to volunteer as fundraisers for ONETrack International. As a volunteer, half of the funds you raise will go directly to you, and the other half will go to the children of ONETrack International. The funds that go to the children will finance programs that successfully home orphans with their relatives, while also providing them proper education and healthcare.

Hospitality employees who sign up as volunteers will begin fundraising by sharing the Restaurant Staff for Orphans campaign page with their network of friends, family, regulars, coworkers and bosses to get the word out and start collecting donations on the campaign page.

To sign up as a volunteer for this campaign, send an email to the team at ONETrack International at info@onetrackint.org and let them know you’d like to fundraise on their behalf. From there a team member will get in touch to help you get started.

“Almost all of ONETrack International’s volunteers and founders started their careers in the restaurant industry. It taught us the importance of community, hard work, and most of all, giving back to others,” Cavolowsky shares. “The hospitality community spurred our desire to further serve and help others in need. So, as we saw the COVID-19 crisis demolish the industry and many of our friends’ incomes, we wanted to find a way to help while still supporting our orphan-care and family preservation initiatives.”

ONETrack International is opening their charity resources to help out an industry they love while maintaining their core mission to improve orphan care worldwide. If this sounds like something you’d like to participate in, get in touch by emailing info@onetrackint.org and help get the word out!
