Job Post Tip: Talk About Your COVID-19 Policy

The best job posts bring in the best applicants – take it from us. Here are our tips on how to improve your posting on Poached.

Working in the restaurant industry during the pandemic has not been easy. From the uncertainty of ‘Stay at Home’ orders to figuring out how to welcome guests back safely — there have been many changes over the last year and a half. Unfortunately, we’re not out of the woods just yet. With a rise in COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant, it’s essential to take working in the pandemic seriously and ensure your employees feel safe. A few months ago, we conducted a survey asking workers how they felt about re-entering the workforce. Most were ready and excited — but their fears of contracting COVID-19 in unsafe work environments were top of mind.

Adding a brief paragraph to your job post about how your business is handling the pandemic can go a long way in bringing in applications. You can describe your masking, social distancing, and vaccination policies as well as how you’ve implemented specific guidelines for guests. Safety has always been an important part of running a restaurant business, but it’s become more of a forefront concern while we continue to navigate our way through the pandemic. Applicants want to know how you’re keeping the workplace safe and clean, so don’t be afraid to share it in your job post! It could be that extra detail that gets someone great to apply to your job over the competition.
