What to do if ICE raids your restaurant – Important Links & Info

We rounded up the most recent and well researched information we could find to help you through a potential ICE raid.

Well, here we are again. As we stated almost exactly 8 years ago, we repeat and stand by those words today:

“The restaurant industry is not only a business, but a community. As a community, the restaurant industry rewards hard work, determination and vision. People are not judged by their backgrounds, but by their work ethic and talent. If our industry ceases to support those who have traveled far from their homes, their families and their friends to make a better life for themselves and those they love, then something central to all of us is lost.

We believe that anyone who wants a job should be allowed to work. We believe that everyone deserves to be paid fairly and treated with respect. We believe that people should not have to live in fear of being deported – being separated from their communities and loved ones – just because of the status of documents. We believe everyone should have an opportunity to contribute to our nation, to better themselves and those around them.”

Having said that, there's a lot of uncertainty as to how the next few weeks, months and years will play out. Will you have to handle a visit from ICE?

We gathered just a few helpful links we think are useful for you and your staff to remain informed:

The National Immigration Law Center

The National Immigration Law Center provides links to resources and information. It is kept incredibly up to date, their article on what to do if you are arrested or detained was posted FRIDAY (Jan 31st, 2025). They cover everything from the Border and Asylum, DACA, Drivers Licenses, Healthcare to Workers Rights.

They also made this PDF for employers to print and leave in office

The Boundless Site and Blog

Boundless recently wrote a very straight-to-the-point article for managers to prepare and respond to ICE visits.

The Fox Rothschild Law Firm

Fox Rothschild is a law firm that brings together 1,000 attorneys across the country to add insight and a personal local touch to national issues in regards to litigation. Their perspective on ICE raids is thorough and very practical. Click Here

The ACLU

The KNOW YOUR RIGHTS section of the ACLU.org has many well thought out scenarios to help inform you how to respond in most circumstances.
